Chalon Completes Roster with European Regular Aher Uguak
Elan Chalon has finalized its squad with the addition of forward Aher Uguak. After a busy start to the transfer period, the club waited nearly a month since signing Miller Kopp to announce their final summer recruit. This move was made official on Thursday with the signing of Uguak, a player well-acquainted with European competitions.
Following a five-season stint in the NCAA, the Canadian-South Sudanese player began his professional career in Europe with Chemnitz in Germany. There, he participated in the BCL and clinched the FIBA Europe Cup in 2024, a competition he will now feature in with Chalon.
Uguak quickly established himself as a key player in Germany. However, his momentum was halted in January 2025 by a patellar tendon fracture that kept him sidelined for 11 months. He now looks to relaunch his career in France.
Coach Elric Delord commented on the signing: "Aher is the last player to join our team. He’s a versatile player with a significant all-around game. He's the type of player who fills every stat sheet. I appreciate his physicality, both offensively and defensively, as well as his versatility, which makes him a complete player. He can play at both the 2 and 4 positions, and his measurements (over 2 meters tall, 2.10m wingspan) give him a definite advantage. Finally, he will bring his basketball IQ, European experience, and human qualities to our team for the upcoming season."
