Paris Defeats Nanterre, Advances to Roanne Final

Paris is off to a strong start this season. After losing both their previous Super Cup games, the capital club has ensured a different outcome in 2026. Maxime Lefèvre's team beat their Nanterre neighbors 95-88. They will face Roanne in the LNB Super Cup final (Sunday at 5 PM) after Roanne defeated ASVEL.

TJ Warren was instrumental in his first official game for Paris, scoring 22 points. Nadir Hifi also fueled the Parisian offense, adding 22 points and 8 assists, especially in the game's closing moments. Nanterre, despite the loss, showcased a satisfying team effort with five players scoring over 10 points: Hugo Yimga-Moukouri, Xavier Castaneda, Lucas Dussoulier, Donta Scott, and Benjamin Sène.

A Tense First Half

Nanterre started strong, hitting two long-range shots early (2-6, 2nd minute). Paris struggled to find their rhythm, missing their first four attempts. Tyson Etienne finally broke their scoring drought with a three-pointer and drew a foul (6-6, 5th minute).

Although this could have ignited the vice-champions, Nanterre responded with an 8-0 run, led by Benjamin Sène (6-14, 7th minute). Nadir Hifi's return to the court seemed to wake up Paris. First with a three-pointer, then with a spectacular alley-oop pass to Allan Dokossi, he helped his team close the gap by the end of the first quarter (17-19, 10th minute).

This momentum helped Paris find offensive solutions in the second quarter, but they couldn't shake off Nanterre. Despite three players scoring over 10 points by halftime (Nadir Hifi, Allan Dokossi, and TJ Warren), Paris only held a slim 2-point lead at the break (50-48, 20th minute). Nanterre's solid team play and Xavier Castaneda's 13 first-half points kept them in the game.

Nanterre Fights, But in Vain

Paris picked up the pace early in the second half, tightening their defense and conceding only 3 points in the first five minutes. Lucas Dussoulier's efforts from beyond the arc (61-56, 26th minute) were quickly overshadowed by the scoring of Warren and Hifi (72-58, 29th minute).

Paris aimed to maintain their lead in the final quarter, but their offense faltered. Nanterre shut down interior scoring and capitalized on Parisian turnovers with fast breaks to close the gap (84-79, 38th minute).

Tyson Etienne, who had broken the scoring drought earlier, provided a crucial three-pointer to extend Paris's lead (87-79, 38th minute). Nadir Hifi then sealed the win with a decisive basket, ending any suspense (91-81, 39th minute).
