Panathinaïkos Secures Brancou Badio on Three-Year Deal
In a significant move, Panathinaïkos has signed Senegalese guard Brancou Badio. This transfer sees Badio moving to the Greek club for the next three seasons, with his contract extending until 2029. He makes the switch from Valencia, where his fellow player T.J. Shorts has headed in the opposite direction.
Badio's move is a testament to his outstanding performance with Valencia. Last season, he averaged 11.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game in the Euroleague. His contributions were instrumental in Valencia securing the Spanish championship and the Super Cup titles.
"The presence of Zeljko Obradovic played a decisive role in my signing because he is a world-renowned coach, a Euroleague legend who has won titles at all levels. For me, as I prepare to take a new step in my career, the fact that he is here as coach was extremely important. It weighed heavily on my final decision, and I am convinced that this is the right choice to become an even better player."
At Panathinaïkos, Badio will team up with Guerschon Yabusele. He will also face his former teammate Jean Montero, who has signed with rivals Olympiakos.
